This marinade is perfect with prawns, poultry, beef and pork, it’s a versatile marinade that tastes even better when used on the BBQ.

In a saucepan combine;

  • 125ml rice wine
  • 60ml hoisin sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 80ml soy sauce
  • 115g sugar
  • 6-8 cloves Black Garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese 5 spice powder


  1. Heat for 10-15 minutes until thickened
  2. allow to cool and then use as required to marinade
